Ziga Brezovnik

Ziga Brezovnik is a textile designer exploring the dynamic relationship between textiles, space, and light. He studied clothing and textile design in Ljubljana before pursuing a master's degree in sustainable textile design at Designskolen Kolding in Denmark, where he now runs his own design atelier.
During his master’s studies, he began researching shading textiles and completed an internship at the Danish company Velux, where he became fascinated by the interplay of color, light, and textiles. This exploration has since become the foundation of his creative practice, shaping his approach to textile design.
Brezovnik works with textiles as a medium for interaction—whether with color, light, architecture, or the human body. His practice blends various media and methodologies, incorporating found objects, existing, purchased and created textiles, and his own light constructions/sculptures. This expansion into spatial design reflects his multidisciplinary approach. With experience in woodwork passed down from his father and brother, he drafts structural elements for his textile pieces, bringing technical expertise into his textile research.
